Lambs

(Older Toddlers)

The Red Barn’s Lambs program continues to foster and encourage your child’s sense of curiosity by offering a curriculum that creates unique and fun experiences for your older toddler. The Lambs’ teachers create lesson plans aimed to foster this curiosity by incorporating fun activities appropriate to their cognitive, social, physical and emotional stages. Children are free to explore the classroom and play in centers that are specifically tailored to each of their developmental needs.

Language development is a large component of this age group. Teachers actively and continuously communicate with your child throughout the day to foster linguistic development. In addition, children spend time every day learning about the letter of the week through art and fun activities. Daily the children are encouraged, but not forced, to participate in circle time. At this time, the children learn about the letter of the week, read great stories, and/ dance to fun music!

The Lambs class also focuses on toilet learning. We recognize that all children learn to use the toilet at different stages and in different ways. This is why our teachers work with parents to develop an individualized plan that best fosters toilet learning for your child.

Once again, communication is an important aspect of the Red Barn’s program. There will be time at drop-off and pick-up for communication with your child’s teacher. A “Daily Sheet” will be provided with a detailed report of your child’s sleeping patterns, eating schedule, toilet schedule, and other fun things he or she did throughout the day!
